this bubbly girl is josephine ava charlton. most of the time she just goes by josie or jose, sometimes jo. she's a real sweetheart, well mannered, polite, and respectful. it was the way she was brought up, along with her two brothers. their father is part of the democratic party and the u.s. senator for illinois, therefore public image was crucial and josie and her siblings were all expected to be on their best behavior, no matter what the situation. growing up josie's time was split between washington and chicago and she too developed her father's passion for politics. she is studying political science at yale and has interned for politicians whenever possible. her father however, is humoring her in her studies, and is eventually expecting her to give them up and instead marry a very eligible man and start a family. but josephine wants none of this, she thinks she has sacrificed enough for her father's campaign and career already. she is intelligent, determined and focused and she wants to achieve in the political world, and not just on the coattails of her fathers name.
after being under the watchful eye of the media surrounding her family her whole life josie enjoys the more relaxed environment of yale. here she can let her hair down a bit. the girl isn't a partier but she likes to enjoy herself and tests the freedom she now has while not being ruled under her father's thumb. she can dress more casually, can go where she likes, can talk to whoever she pleases. she is a friendly person but is very insecure about herself. after years of being told how she should act and how she should present herself josie doesn't feel as if she knows who she really is and is spending these years at yale to try and find out.
josie would love lots of friends. she loves to talk to interesting people and is very selfless with her time and efforts. if you need something she'll get if for you, anyway she can. sometimes she can be a bit flighty and disorganized, after years of someone else managing her life for her she sometimes finds it difficult to take control of it herself. but she will always be there for a chat or a heart to heart talk, or even as just someone to rant to. she is also very opinionated and a good person to get into a debate with. she is fair and considerate, so will graciously hear your side of the argument before launching into her reasoning of why you are completely wrong. she is a sweet girl with a sensible head on her shoulders who is in need of some good friends who she can laugh and be silly with, but who can also hold up with some intellectual conversation.
when it comes to people of the male variety josie is completely unsure of herself. she's never had a real relationship, never been in love, and is wary of men in general. she once dated a boy who was the son of a wealthy family friend and it was all to do with projecting a good image on both families. there was a point where josie worried that he would break up with her, and that it would damage her father's campaign, so in an effort to keep him interested josie slept with him. five days later he dumped her anyway. ever since josie has been very suspicious of men's intentions and is waiting until she finds the guy that seems worthy of her love. she's a hopeless romantic and is looking for that sweeping love story, a run away romance where they will take off and elope, just to annoy her father and his campaign managers. so right now she's looking for maybe a couple of flirtations, a few innocent dates, and maybe the love of her life.
