the world comes to life and everything's rightFROM BEGINNING TO END, WHEN YOU HAVE A FRIENDKADEN WILSON , 966 WORDS , CLOTHING , COMPLETE
tugging this arm, Lucy pulled her best friend through mall. "C'mon, Buggy! Her best friend was Kaden 'Bug' Wilson. The pair were closer than anyone could possibly imagine. They had been friends since the second grade. It was a long time, but it had just flown by. Hard to believe that fifteen years had gone by so quickly. Yes, the pair had been friends for that long. It seemed odd that even at that young age Lucy had preferred a male to be her best friend. The reasons she listed came to mind when she was a lot older: there was no threat of him stealing her boyfriends, no bitchiness between them, no competiveness in most areas. The true reason was one Lucy would never be able to answer. She had just become fast friends with Kaden when he proved to be the only boy who would not waste his time pulling her hair and calling her names. There was something about the quiet boy who had spent his lunchtimes alone. She'd felt an urge to befriend him. Even at that age, Lucy had been a very spirited, friendly little girl and she had forced her way into Kaden's life and she had been a part of it ever since. It had proved to be a good thing, yet so complex at the same time.
as the two got older, feelings became complicated from her end. She had learned the hard way that it was near impossible for a boy and a girl to be best friends as long as they had and not stay purely platonic. Lucy had developed feelings for him, but it was not something she would easily admit. Things with Kaden were not as simple as take a chance and ask him out. Things ran deeper than that. To Lucy, there was something holding her back from Kaden. She knew exactly what it was, but she did her best not to think about it. The secret of Kaden's was very close to home and she could not help but be bothered, even if she had told him that she was okay with it. There was not a single doubt in her mind that he would repeat the acts. He was changed and he was a better person now. She knew this and believed it with every inch of her heart and mind. Still, there was that irrational part of her telling her to fear him, to disrespect him because of it. Disrespecting Kaden was not something she could do, but there was that fear somewhere. Would he do it again? Would he do it to her? The answers were clear, but making them stick was the part she struggled with. It was a battle everyday to force herself to get over it, but she was getting better at it as each day went by.
with quick footsteps, she halted in front of her favourite store with a display of nice shirts out front. Lucy was in need of some new winter clothes, as well as to start searching for Christmas presents. Presents had been located for her mother, her adoptive father and her half-brother, but what to get Kaden was escaping her. Shopping with him was an excuse to get him looking. She was clinging to his side, listening to every little comment he made about anything that caught his eye. She wanted to get him something amazing, but did not have a clue what to get. No matter how well she knew Kaden, shopping for him had never been something she was good at. Last year, she had simply gotten him a gag gift; a shirt that said 'I'm with stupid'. It was simple, but the letter she had given him was more personal and his proper present. She wanted to make up for it. She was thinking of getting him a watch or something valuable, but she wasn't sure if he would appreciate it. "Isn't it gorgeous?" she asked Kaden, hoping the shirt out for him to gaze over. This was probably boring for him, but his opinion meant more to her than anyone else's did. Okay, his opinion about her appearance probably shouldn't have counted, as he had seen her hungover, sick and in every other state that no one wanted people to see them in. He was bias in his opinion, but Lucy didn't give a damn.
cocking her head, concentrating deeply, she gazed at the shirt still in her hands. After a few moments, she shook her head and put the shirt back. Lucy decided to pass. Instead, she grabbed Kaden by the hand and pulled him inside. "They have some nice men's stuff in here. Maybe we can find you a new pair of jeans." It was an excuse for her to try and dress him in the ways she wanted. He did dress nicely of course, but she liked having her input. It didn't go any further than that. She trailed off from Kaden, her instincts dragging her to women's clothing. Immediately, a woollen cardigan jumped out and after locating it in her size, Lucy slung it over her arm, now searching for a nice scarf to accompany it. Her search ended quickly as she decided to locate Kaden and make sure he hadn't found anything. Into the men's section she went. It was easy to find him as he was tall and she knew his frame anywhere. She could probably locate him from smell alone, she was that familiar with him. It was odd thinking that she knew someone that well. At times, she felt like she knew Kaden better than she knew herself. It was a strange feeling, but Lucy honestly didn't mind it. It was nice to be with someone who could rarely surprise her.

It took a blunt force to move an object as big as Kaden. He'd never been one to let people push and pull him around, in fact, he'd been very against people touching him his entire life. It was a good thing that Lulu wasn't just anyone. As she latched onto his arm and forced him from store to store, Kaden's mood transcend gleeful instead of repulsed. There was a lot that Lulu could get away with that other's wouldn't dare. Though Kaden was a kind creature, for the most part, people always saw his stature as threatening. Therefore, people left him to his own silence, and in all honesty, that's the way he liked it. Not Lucy, though. She knew her limits with him, and pushed them whenever she saw fit. Granted, it was always for a good reason. A lot of people would like to bring her down, because she has a mouth on her and an attitude to match. Something that he's seen on other people, but only directed toward him when needed. It was amazing that these two could co-exist, being as stubborn as they were. Then again, maybe that's why they worked so well together. Neither liked to be told they couldn't do something, and neither would back down from a challenge. Still, that didn't stop him from letting her drag him Christmas shopping, when all that they've seemed to look at today was fit to her body shape. Not that he minded. He'd be lying if he said he did.
When Kaden and Lucy had met, it was his first week at a new school. You see, when his mother was around, she decided that nothing was better for her little boy, than to be home schooled by his amazing mother. And when that proved to be too difficult, she hired a tutor that, the normally sweet Kaden, had directed his pranking on in likes to reach his mother's attention. It wasn't until peanut butter flavored underwear forced the tutor turned sitter to quit, that the boy's parents decided it was time for him to go to a public school. He was a shy boy, of course, not having any other siblings at the time and somewhat shielded away from his community beyond the gates of his home. So, it was least to say that his first few days after being thrown into a completely different world without much warning, had him paling away. Though Lucy wasn't the first to try and befriend him, she had by far been the most successful. Kaden's outlook on their friendship was simple; even at a young age, this Wilson had been territorial with other little boys his age. And in the second grade, for a little girl to be friends with a boy was unlikely. Nevertheless, Lucy saw past his cooties, and her smile was welcoming. Not that it mattered, Luce had always been the 'do or die' type of girl. She always found a way of getting what she wanted, no questions asked, no chances left untaken. While he should have known this all along, it wasn't until the two were in their teens, that it really blossomed. Of course, that wasn't the only thing that had done so. He'd started to notice things about her. Her amazing personality, in which he always knew of, was accompanied by soft skin and need-to-touch-it locks hanging just over her shoulders and down her back.
When college came around, Lucy'd gotten herself someone special, and the love that he watched the two share made him sick to his stomach. At first, he chopped it up to the fact that the guy she'd taken into her heart wasn't a good person. That he'd end up hurting her, and from where Kaden stood, there was nothing he could do about it. As time went on, he realized that his feelings for her weren't the same as they'd been before. Those small things he'd started to notice from high school, had now intensified to the point where he yearned for her in more ways than a friendship could offer. He became a bit possessive over her, though he tried his best to not let her see it. He pretended it was because he was protecting her from the world, when in fact, it was because he felt her soul was for his. She was his. When things had gotten more serious, he'd started getting less of her time - which, of course, was to be expected in any sense. He found ways to fill the empty space. It started off with alcohol. Going out and having as much fun as he could; the harder it was to remember the next day, the better. He couldn't complain, he was going and being brought home by girls he'd barely knew the names of. No strings attached. Well, that is, until he'd found a girl who had more than sex to offer in the form of a joint. It was fun, he had to admit. The first few weeks were different; nothing was important, nothing hurt. He'd even promised himself that it'd only be this once that he tried something new. Just this once. Well, once turned into twice, and twice turned into weekly. It'd gotten so bad that he'd needed it. His skin paled, his body appeared sick. He just wasn't the same Kaden people had come to know. Sure, he hid it, for a while. Hid it until it was impossible to keep doing so. Lucy saw what he'd been doing to his body, and she warned him that if he kept going down this road that he'd end up somewhere dangerous. Through the guilt for his bent will, and disappointment he was getting from her, Kaden refused to heed her warnings. At first, he couldn't see that he was changing. He couldn't tell that things that were so important to him once, didn't matter. That his anger was a rising issue, and that he wasn't rested. Then he'd made a mistake, that he can never take back. A mistake that changed his life forever.
"It'll look amazing on you, Lulu. Just like the last twelve that we looked at." The brute exclaimed. He looked afool shopping, towering over the ladies who stood around him, with a confused look overwhelming his strong features. He'd never once complain though. One day, Lulu wouldn't be around to help him shop, and he'd have to tone it down due to lack of fashion-intelligence. Besides, it wouldn't be the first time he'd gotten a number or two. By some nice looking ladies, too, if i might add. Then again, there was that dude one time, and though Kaden is no homophobe, he scared the poor boy away with a blank stare not to be messed with. ( O.O iono. ) He, one day, hopes to live that one down, but in the meantime, he'll have to do with Lulu pulling him into stores. Such, as now. He lingered slightly, as the two stood in front of a store he'd been into time and time again, but didn't recognize. His eyes overcome with the sight of Lucy standing there, a shirt in hand, and her mind on whether or not she wanted it badly enough or not. He'd never understand, that. A shirt was a shirt, to Kaden. Then again, that was just him. A shirt on Lucy, however was a completely different story. That was something he enjoyed learning about. No, not just because of her figure, in which i must add, is not without. Some things just reminded him of the better times between them, and this was one of them; Kaden standing around aloof, and Lucille deciding it was time for his jeans to make friends.
"We-what's wrong with my jeans?" he asked, his eyes darting down to the machine wash jeans clinging to his legs. Alright, so they were a bit old. All of Kaden's clothes were old, but they were comfortable, and that's all that really mattered to him. He wasn't one to follow the latest trends, in all honesty, he could care less what he whore as long as it wasn't a pink unitard. Regardless, he knew how much Lucy liked to dress him up, and he really had no problem with it. It meant he got to spend more time with her, even if he had to watch her play dress up for three hours straight. The boy grinned. "Lulu..." He started, but before he could finish, she'd grabbed his hand and once more dragged him, this time, over to the men's section. His sunglasses almost falling from the nape of his black shirt, before his eyes stared down at the racks of clothes in a slight confusion. He exchanged glances from the clothing to his friend, only to see her trailing off toward the ladies section and leaving him there to drown. Kaden sighed, scratched his head like the shopping gorilla that he was, and reached out grabbing the first shirt he saw - whether it was his size or not. She would have startled him at her arrival, if he weren't already used to her coming and going in this mall. Instead, he turned to her, held the shirt against the white overshirt that lay upon his chest and smiled as if to say This is what you get when you leave me alone. "Wha'doya say, pink my color?" he added, pleased with his sarcasm.

ignoring him was her chosen course of action. His opinion was bias, or so she thought, because she was his best friend. Kaden was not going to come right out and say that he thought she looked bad in a shirt, or that her taste in clothing was ugly. It was not something that one did to their friend, especially when it was a male speaking to a female. That was just asking for trouble. Lucy thought it was hilarious watching some males in the predicament of being asked an opinion. Seeing them squirm and then watching the female party get insulted or ask further questions was great entertainment. She knew better than to do that to Kaden, so she usually asked an opinion and left it at that. Confusing the poor guy was the last thing she wanted to do. "You saying that makes me sure that not buying it is the right thing to do." She wasn't insulting in opinion, although it could be interpreted that way. She was stating the the other 'twelve' hadn't been right and if he thought the same about the one she had just put down, maybe the right thing was to pass it up. It was a real beauty though. Maybe she would come back and buy it another day. However, it was time to move on and shopping for Kaden was definitely the next thing on her agenda. Maybe then she would finally do the Christmas shopping she was meant to be doing. She would make sure to at least pick up presents if not buy them all today. She liked to start her shopping early and beat the crowds.
rolling her eyes, she turned to face Kaden. She quirked her eyebrow and asked, "Do you really want me to answer that?" She cocked her head, grabbed his hand and pulled him inside, after her name had been stated. The nickname alone was a mark of how strong their friendship was. The only other person who could call her 'Lulu' was her mother. Anyone else would get a real ass chewing from the girl shall they even attempt to call her 'Lulu'. It was Lucy to most, Luce on occasion. She would never dream of letting anyone else call her 'Lulu' either. Whilst in her first college relationship, her ex-boyfriend had tried to use the nickname and Lucy had snapped at him. It was something strictly between Kaden and Lucy. They had a lot of shared traditions that were things that were shared with no one else, and often left others confused as to why they did them. All of those things were precious to her. He was precious to her. Kaden was such a huge part of her life. Almost every positive memory she had involved him in some way, large or minute. It was almost surreal to think that one single person could have such a large role in her life; that one single person could bring her so much happiness in so many different occasions. She may not have said this to him, but she was so grateful for his role in her life. Strange how one simply decision made by seven year old Lucy had led them here.
though she often drifted off, at least she often drifted back to check on him. With her cardigan in hand, she was by Kaden's side once more, wrinkling her nose at the hideous choice of shirt. They were meant to be looking for jeans. She got the message he was sending her loud and clear. The smile was easily readable and it was the same one that she got every time she left him somewhere alone. "I get it, okay?" She took the shirt form his hand and put it back on a random rack. She did not know where he had grabbed it from, nor did she care. "Honestly, with the things you pick, some people must think you're gay with horrible fashion sense." She grinned at him, poking his stomach before she moved along the side, quickly coming up to something that would look good on him. She had gone shopping with him long enough to know his size, so in a few moments, she had pulled out a nice new pair of jeans that would be comfortable as they weren't tight, but they weren't baggy 'gangster' pants either. They were just nice jeans, a nice style and a nice colour that would look amazing on Kaden. Lucy thrust them into his hands with a questioning gaze in her eyes. She was waiting for an opinion from him. She didn't bother speaking her question. He knew her well enough to know what she expected. She often just looked at him, waiting for a comment, an opinion or a question.
after the appropriate action after hearing his opinion on her choice of jeans, she asked, "While we're here, is there anything else you need? A new winter jacket or something?" It would've probably been better for her to go and cope out his wardrobe as Kaden was the type to prefer his old clothes. Lucy was the opposite. She liked clothes that were shiney with newness and up to date with the trends and fashions. Sure, his lifestyle was cheaper, but to each their own. Lucy was happy how she was and if she wasn't, Kaden would be wearing the same old ratty clothing for years and years. That may have had some benefits. If he looked like a bum, there were less chances of some girl sweeping him off his feet and away from Lucy. Okay, so she could be jealous too, she was just good at hiding it. No one seemed to notice a thing, so that was definitely a positive. "What do you think of this?" she asked him, holding up the cardigan. His opinion meant something, but it rarely overrode her own. However, she would not be buying anything without at least one other positive opinion. She waited with the garmet held up against her frame. She waited, watching him curiously.

Lucy was right to assume that Kaden's opinion of her was a bit bias. Strangely enough, though, it wasn't completely because he was her best friend. The fact that he'd thought she was balls out beautiful to begin with, probably had it's hand in it, yet all the same, he'd never tell her she looked terrible in anything. "Well gee, thanks. I love you too."
[/b] He joked, as she contently disregarded his opinion, and put the top back on the rack. Truth was, while she did look amazing in all of them, that last one knocked the rest out of the park. He could tell that she was a bit disappointed as she placed close to it's proper place, and Kaden smiled to himself. He'd have to make sure he'd bought it for her, because deep down, she did want it. He'd just have to make sure that she wasn't paying attention, otherwise he'd have to come back for it. And remembering the store location in this horrendous mall, alone, was a task that his shopping-feeble mind couldn't completely comprehend. There was just some things that Kaden wasn't good at, and this one falling into the stereotypical pallet that men just didn't know how to shop. Well, Kaden was the poster boy for male stereotypes, at the moment. Something that, once he notices, he probably won't care to change, anyway. Currently, this gigantor was very comfortable with the person he was becoming, and give or take some few, but serious, mistakes in the past - he wouldn't change a thing. He felt as if he was finally getting his new start, or at least, it was finally starting to pay off. Still in hand lay that famous pink shirt that had a sarcastic smile spread across the eldest Wilson's face. "Uh huh." barely left his mouth, as she'd taken it away from him and made it a factor that she'd gotten his point. That's really all he was looking for. He'd watched as she placed it randomly upon a rack, that he hadn't even gotten it from, by the way, and reached in his pocket to grab out that famous spirt of candy. The boy passed a slight chuckle to her comment, while shaking his head. "Real men wear pink, Lulu."[/b] He grinned. "Even the T-shirt said so."[/b], expecting her witty banter in return. As he raised his hand to put it in his mouth, he felt a poke on his abdomen that almost made him lose his handful. He looked down at her, as she moved to his side; a swoosh! in comic book fashion. Shaking his head, he finally tossed that handful into his mouth and bit down on the sour goodness, while those bright blue orbs of his found her where she stood and just watched. It didn't take her long to grab what she wanted, and toss them at him. A look in her eye needed to know what he thought, as if it would be some drawn out intellectual perspective. Kaden peered down at the jeans in his hands, and smirked. "They're blue."[/b] Pushing some more candy in his mouth, he raised the jeans and noticed the detail of the pockets and the wash of then jeans. "So, you want people to think I'm gay with good fashion sense?"[/b] He continued. As he swallowed the chew that he'd tucked away in the side of his cheek while talking, Kaden turned to look at her, still searching for an answer from him and toned down his smile a bit. "They're nice."[/b] He'd stated, even though a twinge of his dialog may have slid in to make his statement sound more like a question. Dropping them over his left arm, Kaden smiled at his best friend's reaction, before popping a couple more bits of candy into his mouth and scratching his head slightly. He never offered Lucy anything anymore. He normally didn't have to, if she wanted something she'd made it clear that she'd be taking it. He loved that about her, though he didn't notice some of these things until he'd lost her. Something he hadn't intended on doing again. "Naw, my jacket's still pretty new."[/b] came in response, though he was sure Lucy would disagree. The truth was, Kaden didn't see use for new things, until his other's had started to get holes in them. Well, all except for his jeans, that is. The jacket he had at home was about three years old, actually, now that he thought of it, one that Luce had bought him for Christmas, and he'd only wore it a couple times. Growing up in New Haven, you learned to deal with the cold in your own ways. Kaden was a big guy, which was obvious to the world around him, and whether it be fat or muscle, it seemed to keep him warm. Not to mention the cold only made him stronger and more macho like. Kaden's eyes wandered around the store, catching reds and greens, purples and blues in an attempt to show interest, spoke up. "I could probably use some more scrubs, though. Mine are kinda messy, from last week."[/b] He didn't think he needed to mention why. These past two weeks, the orderlys were letting third year interns have a hand on experience with the patients, and he'd been allowed out on a ride along, where things got a little messy. A much smaller handful of candy made it's way to his mouth, but instead of forcing it down, he took one piece at a time. Sometimes, the sour would raw his mouth, and regardless of who told him not to eat them that way, he'd never listened. His best friend's voice caught his attention, and as he began to give it to her, he'd found himself at a loss of words. The handful of candy that he'd been enjoying came to a pause, as his hand froze next to his face, before slowly lowering itself. His eyes darted to the cardigan against her body, and as he lost count of the seconds that seemed to go by, he'd redirected his attention to his fist. It wasn't unusual for him to be taken in by her, but it was seldom that he'd let himself be noticed doing it. Clearing his throat, Kaden grinned. "It's Pretty."[/b] He'd managed to give her. "Brown looks good on you, though. It makes your eyes stand out."[/b] was added.[/justify] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - NOTES - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - done, finally. i hope it makes sense, i know i totally rambled a bit. and yaaay for not losing my post ! : )
