” He muttered beneath his breath into the collar of his jacket that was now pulled upward to keep the cold away from his neck.[/blockquote]For the first time since he and Lucy started dating Brody was feeling completely at ease. He had a little issue when it came to her best friend, Kaden but he was slowly getting over that. They were best friends and he needed to remember that. There was nothing more going on between the two other than friendship and Brody felt horrible for even thinking that maybe there was more. He knew why he had done it though and that was because he was scared, he was confused and most importantly because he did not want to lose Lucy. She was one of his closest friends and now that they were dating he just wanted everything to work out. She was his first girlfriend since high school and unlike the girl he had dated back then when it came to the two of them Brody really did want this relationship to go far and maybe eventually become serious. The young man already knew that he loved Lucy, he had for the past year it was just trying to put all his emotions together so that he could figure it all out that was killing him. Luckily enough for him he was able to keep Lucy unsuspicious as to what had been going through his mind for the past week or so and now that he was slowly moving past everything he hoped that things would continue to go good for them. After talking to one of his friends, Addie, Brody figured it was time to take his girlfriend on a legit date and he had the perfect place in mind along with the activities for the night ( keeping it g-rated, kids ). Of course he knew that he couldn’t just do it on his own so he recruited the help of one of his close friends, Tyler and the two of them already had mostly everything set up, give or take a few things.
Brody had just got done talking to that boy actually and was on his way to his car so that he could meet up with the guy before Tyler had to meet up with his own girlfriend. This was all going to be perfect, Brody was sure of it. Lucy deserved a proper first date even though they had hung out time and time again. Everything in his mind said that it was going to be a good night; he only hoped that much was true. As he walked through the parking lot Brody’s mind thought of everything that needed to be done still. All the food was bought; there were movies there, popcorn and everything else he figured they’d need for the night. It wasn’t anything fancy but it was something that he hoped Lucy would like. Seeing how he was all new to this dating thing he needed help and after talking to a couple of people everything had finally come together in his mind and it was going to be the best night the two had spent together thus far. Apart from dating Lucy nothing was really new in the young firefighter’s life. Christmas was coming up and he had done most of his shopping give or take a few gifts for a couple of people but he would get it all done on time. He was just having a brain block when it came to what he needed to get a few people. Lucy’s present was out of the way and had been for awhile, hers was easy enough because he knew just what he wanted to get her. Abby’s gift was done as were his Aunt’s and Uncle’s. He still needed to get Taryn something though.
Once Brody arrived at his car he climbed inside and started it up. Turning up the defrost he then grabbed the ice scraper out of the back seat and got out of the car, slamming the door behind him. The young man then proceeded to start scraping off all the ice and snow that was on the front windshield. It was a pain in the ass, that much was obvious because it really was frozen onto the glass so he knew it was going to take awhile and with the way the wind was blowing and more snow falling he knew that by the time he got back in his car he’d be freezing. He was going to suck it up though, it was just a little bit of snow and some cold air, and he’d get through it with no problem whatsoever. As he picked at the ice he began to hum to himself, at least it’d be something to keep him occupied, right? Once the front windshield was cleared Brody moved around to the side windows and worked on those too, getting all the ice and all the snow off of it so he didn’t have to worry about it later. It didn’t take long for all the snow and ice to get taken off the side windows so he was on the back window in no time at all. This one proved to be just as difficult as the front windshield had been though and he let out a grunt as his ice scraper refused to work properly and the one layer of ice would not remove itself from his car. “Stupid piece of shit.
