She called over to her as he made his way over to her. Though they weren’t the greatest of friends, he was still friendly to her. In fact, he wasn’t even taken by her in any way. ”How’s life treating you? You look a little.. annoyed? If that’s the right word.” He shrugged his shoulders and waited upon a response.[/blockquote]With his business currently in good shape, Adam set out to take a day off from work and do something a bit different. He hoped that, after five years of not doing it, he could actually visit home and see his parents and sister. It had been so long since he last saw them that he hardly remembered what they were doing the last time he did. He hadn’t exactly lost contact but he was always too focused on his business that he just didn’t have the time to visit them. Adam had prepared his Christmas gifts for friends and family only recently but there were still bits and pieces he longed to get. He wasn’t even sure if he would be receiving any gifts but he wasn’t entirely bothered. Seeing his family would be a good enough present for him. Or perhaps he’d make it to six years without seeing them at all. Flinging his briefcase on the sofa of his home, he removed his jacket and his shoes only to make his way into the kitchen and start preparing some food. He needed to eat something decent before heading out again for the day. He had checked on his business this morning to check his ‘main man’ was doing a good enough job and that things were running smoothly. The last thing he needed was a phone call to tell him that hell had broken loose or that some files were lost or some other lame thing like that. It would only frustrate him and then he’d have to cancel his plans to go and sort out everyone else’s mess which would annoy him further. Adam had patience but he had been longing for one day where everything would go smoothly that his patience today was sinking low.
The strong smell of coffee lingered in the kitchen once he’d prepared it and the mixture with his bacon, eggs, sausage and toast made it feel like a breakfast he hadn’t had in awhile. Adam continued to prepare his food and lay it neatly out on the plate as and when it was complete. He proceeded then to shove some butter on his toast and gradually move into the living room where he would eat and watch tv. Adam could see his dog in the corner of his eye, begging for food and he just grinned. Bruce was a dog he’d had for three years now and he was his best friend as sad as it sounds. They always said Labradors could be its owner’s best friend and it was true in this case. Adam watched Bruce and then turned his gaze back to the tv once he’d given up begging for food. Nothing interesting at all was on the television and so the continuous flicking through seemed to have his attention. You could see a small laugh forming every time a weird show came on the screen. It was very fun to see just how much crap was on at this time in the morning. He proceeded to eat his tasty breakfast and once he had, he switched the television off and headed back into the kitchen to put it all in the dishwasher and let it clean. Adam loved the invention of the dishwasher for the fact it meant he didn’t have to do the washing up himself when he was too lazy to do so.
Once finished, Adam shoved his jacket back on and his shoes and made sure he had his keys and money. He stroked the dog on the head and ushered him to his bed quickly before exiting his home. He traipsed down a few streets aimlessly, not sure exactly where he was heading at this current moment in time. He froze just outside a shop and took his cigarettes out of his pocket, lighting one and taking a puff of it. He wasn’t sure why he smoked to be entirely exact but he did and it probably wouldn’t change any time soon. Adam continued to smoke his cigarette as he walked but it wasn’t until he spotted someone he recognised that he actually put it out. He arched an eyebrow. ”Fancy bumping into you here again, Taryn.”
