so leave it behind *INDIANA . 562 WORDS . AROUND 3 PM . CLOTHES . COMPLETE IT'S QUITE A SUCKY START, I'M SORRY. I'M A LITTLE RUSTY. :\Louisa knew that all she needed to do well in college was effort. If she spent more time in her books, and was a little more enthusiastic about school in the very beginning, then shell actually make it somewhere. But then again, what was there to worry about? Louisa was only in her sophomore year; the real deal wouldnt actually begin till two years from now, right? Shell start focusing more when the times right, someday. Lou would rather not attend half of the classes shes enrolled in; she wasnt even afraid of skipping classes anymore. It was quite a routine already, to be honest. In fact, Louisa had been doing so since high school. How did the girl actually end up in an Ivy League could be a mystery to some but to Louisa, her studies came easily to her. She could be out partying the night before an exam and still do better for the paper than most in her class. Louisa knew it wasnt the right thing to do; but school wasnt exactly her favourite activity either. She didnt want to be confined within the walls of an institution, but even this lady knew that she needed to go somewhere in life.
But thats for later. At this point, however, there wasnt even a slightest feeling of guilt buried in Louisa that she was sitting at the bleachers and not in a classroom. If the girl was lucky, she would have some companions with her. It was usually Indiana and like almost any other time shed skipped class, Louisa hoped her friend would be around that afternoon. Louisa had even prepared herself for this so-called free period; she bought a bag of chips and a cup of café latte from the campus café before heading to the bleachers. She had learnt better than to sit there quietly without anything to do. Well, munching was a good way to go, no?
The field was empty that afternoon. What a pity. More often than not the students occupying the field would wave back to her. Occasionally someone would drop by beside her, but apparently she wasnt lucky that day. Louisa shrugged it off anyway; she was sure that it was only a matter of time before someone arrived. Apparently the bleachers were one of the common spots students go to when theyre not in the mood to attend lessons. Of course, being in Yale, there werent too many students like Louisa and Indiana. They could probably come up with their own little club; a group for those who cant be bothered about their education.
After a while, already feeling bored that no one was around to entertain her, Louisa decided to text Indiana. Just to ask, you know, if she was heading down. Im here at the bleachers now. Coming around today? Louisa sighed being alone was more boring that she had initially imagined. Louisa slipped out a box of cigarettes from her shoulder bag. She lit one of them as she placed them in between her lips. Perhaps it was a bad day to skip class after all. If she was going to be feeling this bored out here, Louisa would rather be in class listening to the droning voice of her teacher. Ah well, it was too late to walk in now anyway; too bad for her then.

The many years of homeschooling had caused her to feel pretty nervous about going into a place where she would be surrounded by tons of people she didn’t know and she’d actually have to listen to proper teaches. She was never good at following rules even though she knew they existed which was why she often found herself being the rebellious one in college. The one who was prone to skipping class or getting a detention without meaning to. The only reason she was in college in the first place was to extend her knowledge on music and to perhaps get a decent assessment grade in it. She had spent her whole life dreaming of being a singer and after developing a band when she was sixteen, she found her dream slowly unfolding in front of her. Education was a last resort. She technically didn’t have to be there. She chose to do so and therefore she left her parents and their travelling to settle down in New Haven. Indiana loved travelling and she was so used to making friends and leaving them behind that it was quite weird to have friendships that were lasting so long. It was kind of comforting in a way.
This morning Indiana had three lessons. Her first being her general music lesson, her second being music history and her third being a recording session. She had attended her first lesson and was sat in her second lesson when she received a message from Louisa. Finally, an escape from the worst lesson of the day. Indiana glanced around at the students who were working hard and she rose to her feet suddenly and made her way unsteadily towards the teacher’s desk. ”I don’t feel so good.”
She mumbled her face serious. She even made the attempt to pretend to gag and the teacher quickly ushered her outside to get some fresh air. Indiana was now out of the classroom and having sorted herself out in the bathroom to make herself half-decent, she made her way outside into the grounds. She no longer had to worry about people seeing her as she was out of sight of her classroom and the anything else that might get her into trouble. She slung her bag over her shoulder and made her way quite happily over to the bleachers where she knew Louisa was. Hence the text. The small walk to the bleachers was effortless for Indiana. She reached them in a matter of minutes, her phone in her hand and her ear phones in her ears as she listened to her music rather loudly. Today would be a good day hopefully. She caught a glimpse of Louisa and she smiled sheepishly as she stepped up her pace and finally reached the girl. ”That’s a bad habit that is,” She spoke loud enough for her friend to hear and she placed her bag on the floor and leant up against the bleachers. Indiana had never got properly into smoking. She had tried it but she never continued the habit and she wasn’t sure she would. Maybe a cigarette every now and then. She rummaged into her pocket and pulled out some gum, shoving it in her mouth before she started chewing it. ”I pulled the typical fake sickness. It works every time! The teachers seem to get a bit more oblivious every day.” She said, rolling her eyes as she continued to chew the fresh gum she had just placed in her mouth. Skipping class was always fun, especially when Louisa and Indiana were involved.[/blockquote][/blockquote] ( notes: this failed too (: )

so leave it behind *INDIANA . 615 WORDS . AROUND 3 PM . CLOTHES . COMPLETE FAIL COMES WITH A SMILEY FACE NOW? =0 HAHA.Louisa was still unsure about what she was going to do in the future, in the long run. She did not exactly have a dream job in mind since the sophomore student never really sat down and took life seriously. She just knew that she wasn’t going to follow her parents’ path; which illustrates to almost everything except music and theatre. Or perhaps the arts in general; that’s as much as she had planned out in high school. Louisa didn’t want to have a stigma attached to her – she didn’t want to be the melodramatic theatre student nor the rebellious band girl, just to name a few. So the girl settled with being indifferent and nonchalant; just going with the flow, perhaps.
Lou felt that her parents’ divorce had been very unfair to herself and her sister. They were separated at the age of fourteen and twelve respectively, so it was a difficult four years ahead of them. Louisa considered her decision to move back to New Haven as one of the best choices she has made yet. And no, she didn’t quite celebrate her decision to enrol in Yale, to be honest. This led Lou to drag her high school lifestyle through to college – skipping classes, sleeping in lessons and all that jazz.
The moment Louisa heard her friend’s voice, her head snapped up almost immediately. She grinned at Indiana’s remark. “Old habits die hard,” she casually replied, with a small shrug of her shoulders. Louisa had picked up cigarettes in her sophomore year in high school, which totalled up to be about four years already. “I’ve been doing this forever, you know that,” Lou added, before taking another drag from the cigarette. Louisa watched as Indiana popped in a chewing gum; they say one way for anyone to stop smoking was by chewing gum. The girl never really liked them to begin with, so she definitely did not see any point in attempting to stop her cancer sticks.
Louisa laughed heartily in response to Indiana’s excuse. “That one’s a classic,” she agreed with a nod of her head. Although she didn’t normally walk out of her classes halfway, Louisa still enjoyed listening to her companions’ theories. Louisa would either sit through a whole lesson, or miss it altogether – she was not exactly an in between person, especially since doing that would just make her look a lot more suspicious. “I heard the menstrual cramps thing works like a charm,” Louisa contributed to the conversation. “Especially with male teachers, of course. It’s totally high school but it still works.” Louisa rolled her eyes, as though to emphasise her point. She hadn’t actually tried that theory out, thus making a mental note to do it someday. “So what were you having earlier anyway?” Louisa asked her companion. She honestly wouldn’t have an answer if the question was directed to her; apparently Louisa didn’t exactly make it a point to remember all her classes. She often had to refer to her schedule which she synchronised into her phone, but it suddenly seemed too much of a hassle to check it now.
“It’s just too bad nobody’s here today,” Louisa gestured towards the field with her cigarette. “A few less companions today, I suppose.” Lou hadn’t mentioned yet how she felt that today seemed like a bad day to skip class - evidently from the empty field and bleachers, apart from the both of them. Were they both missing out on something everybody else knew about? It definitely seemed like it, but Louisa didn’t want it to bother them too much. Indiana and Louisa could have their own kind of fun, with or without everybody else, right?

*/ pressure pushing down on me( tagging: louisa court location: athletics field appearance: outfit ) Indiana wanted to focus on her band more than anything. She knew that studying music would probably help but she seemed to have got on alright previously without having proper education. The whole going to college thing was a spur of the moment decision and they had written to her asking her if she would like a scholarship. Otherwise, she probably wouldn’t have technically considered it right away. Indiana wasn’t the most studious of students but the one thing that kept her focused was her talent. She was hugely musical. Singing was her life and she was even currently being taught guitar and drums by her band mates. They just loved to see her make a fool out of herself when she attempted to look half decent at playing either. She was trying hard though – she always loved to experience something new. Whether it was musically involved or not, she didn’t really care. It was just the refreshing feeling of trying something different and it just so helped with the fact that Indiana was very different. She wasn’t like her friends in many ways including her upbringing, her attitude and even the clothes she wore every day. Some people would think she looked like a slut or something along those lines whereas others would think she looked more outrageous or just hippie-like. A lot of people held different views on her but she never really paid close attention. She had enough insecurities that she knew it would worsen if she constantly listened to people bitch about her. She’d much rather not pay attention and have it every so often rather than every day. Not that people actually did bitch about her but she could never be sure.
”Apparently so,”
She responded with a sheepish grin as she leant against the wall for support since she just had no effort in her to stand fully upright. Indiana had nothing against smoking whatsoever. She just personally didn’t pick up the habit but she probably may as well have especially since she was always around smokers – or most of the time anyway. ”Of course I know that. I wouldn’t be your best friend if I didn’t know that. And anyway, I don’t care that you smoke.” She shrugged her shoulders and continued to chew the gum which in her opinion was a little too minty. It was that extra strong stuff but a little too over the top on the extra. Nonetheless, she continued to chew it and she fiddled with the zip of her leather jacket, not sure whether she should remove it or not. Indiana couldn’t decide if she was hot or cold right now but hopefully she would figure it out sometime. She laughed and nodded her head at Louisa, ”I just love the good ol’ classics!” It was true, the classics worked wonders even though they’d been used for so many years. It was so hilarious that teachers hadn’t actually figured out that they were lying when they used these lame excuses. Indiana focused her attention on the field for a moment before looking back at Louisa just as she spoke. It amused her highly. ”Oh damn, if only I’d remembered that excuse before,” She shook her head, still pretty amused by the comment, ”Though, I had a female teacher so maybe it wouldn’t have gone down extremely well.” Indiana had never used many excuses in her life before since she was homeschooled. Though, she was sure to use a few in her education for the fact she sometimes just couldn’t be bothered to be in class at all. She looked at her friend and smiled, ”Music history, or at least I think that’s what I had.” She was sure it was but knowing her she was completely wrong. She would leave Louisa though for her recording session and whatever else she had. Her whole timetable seemed to have disappeared from her mind in a split second. Indiana couldn’t agree more with her friend when she spoke again. It was a little too quiet today but she knew that if they put too much attention on themselves, they’d sure get in trouble. Of course, Indiana could use the whole fresh air excuse but she wasn’t sure how well it’d work on the headmaster. ”Eh, maybe some of the lads will be out for their usual fitness session in awhile.” She liked the idea of seeing the lads working out but perhaps her luck was running out today for good things happening. ”Let’s have one?” She said, referring to the cigarette she was smoking.[/blockquote][/blockquote] ( notes: xD oh yes, smiley face for failure. )
