WORD COUNT: NINE NINETY SIX - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The past two weeks had been complete hell for Tristan but he knew that it was going to be worth it. He had been trying to kick a nearly five year habit and he knew that if he got through it he would be a better person. To be honest Tristan was already starting to feel more like his old self, the cravings were there and they were worse than ever and he was having trouble sleeping along with a few other symptoms that he already knew would have come from the withdrawal. He was trying his hardest though by keeping himself busy and away from most people he used to get drugs from, mainly Brian. Tristan knew that if he started talking to him again he would put himself in a position where he would go after whatever the man had to offer him when it came to drugs. Trist knew that he was nowhere near ready to even put himself by drugs. It was hard enough to think about them and not force himself to stay away from them but put him in a situation where they were actually present and his willpower would be shot to hell. He now knew what Addie went through every time he would bring drugs home or every he would come home high. That had to be tough on her he always thought but now he knew just how tough it really was. Ugh, he was an idiot for even getting involved in the drugs and he knew it but now he was getting out of them, that would mean that his life would be better from here on out now, right? At least that's what he was hoping for. Tristan's goal right now was to become a better person, to get off the drugs and to show Addie that he was worth sticking around for.
Most of the debt that Tristan owed was completely paid in full. In fact this morning he had just went to pay Brian the last of the money he owed him. If it wasn't for Zeke it wouldn't have been possible though. Tristan owed his brother big time for helping him, he really did. Zeke had given him money without a second thought and while Tristan could have went out and bought more drugs or used the money for something else but despite what people thought about him he wasn't that bad. Plus, Brian had threatened Addie and he wasn't about to let that bastard go anywhere near her to harm her because Tristan owed him money. That was a big no-no and it wasn't going to happen so as soon as Tristan had stopped at his job to pick up his check and cashed it he went straight down to Brian's and paid him off. The man was of course trying to sell Tristan more but he was out of there before he would allow himself to do that. After he was done with that he stopped at his mom's for a little while to talk to her and finish cleaning out his old room. Since he was still trying to stay away from the temptations he figured it'd be the best place to go. His mom was keeping him busy with moving shit around the house for her and clearing out his old bedroom so it was good, he was keeping his mind busy and his hands so two points for him. This wasn't the first day this week he was at the house cleaning, the day previously he had found his old guitar and a bunch of music he wrote when he was younger. It kind of weirded him out though because music had once been his life then he just pushed it away like it was nothing.
When his mom came into his old room and told him the time Tristan left after a few minutes, wanting to surprise Addie at work. He knew she was getting out soon and he missed her so what better way to show her that than to show up at her job? After walking down to the local Starbucks and grabbing two of their favorite coffees he then made his way to Omni and talking to one of the women at the front desk, asking where she was he made his way upstairs to the top floor. He saw the cleaning cart outside one of the doors and one of the other maids standing by it. He asked her quietly where Addie was and after being told he thanked her and popped his head inside one of the doors to peak around. He could hear rustling inside the room and stepped inside quietly, keeping himself pressed against the wall so he would not be seen. "Back home in England we do not have sexy maids like you in our hotels.
" Tristan spoke up in a deep British accent, one that he had perfected awhile ago. After placing the two cups of coffee down on a nearby dresser he moved over to her and placed his hands on her waist from behind her. " Maybe I should take you home with me, yeah?" He spoke, still in his British accent, trying his hardest not to laugh. He was just waiting for her reaction, it was sure to be a good one, that much he was sure of. Tristan often came to bother her at work but most of the time it was him just standing outside the rooms waiting for her to get off, today though he couldn't just stand there and wait, he wanted to bug her while she worked. Plus, he found that outfit of hers pretty damn sexy as well. Oddly enough Tristan was in an amazingly good mood today and it showed by the lopsided grin that was on his face. This time his happiness wasn't because he was high either, it was a genuine one that he hadn't had in awhile.[/blockquote]

it had been a long day and Addie just wanted to go home and take a long hot bath. She had been working since eight that morning and it was nearly six in the evening. She needed to work more hours leading up to Christmas so she was able to buy the gifts she needed. Unknown to Tristan, since she had given up her addiction, she had also been putting a bit of money away. What for? She really had no idea. It was just for an emergency something. Should she decide that they needed to splurge on a shared car, or she decided to use the money to try and get her high scholastic pursuits, it would be there. By the looks of things, if Addie and Tristan decided to get the apartment, her money definitely come in handy. It was unknown to her why she had decided to keep it a secret from Tristan, but in the back of her mind, it was because of his dependency on drugs. Sure, he had never asked her for money before, but Addie knew better than anyone what the pull of addiction could make a person do. Addie had stolen off friends and family to pay for addiction. Hell, she would've stole off of Mrs. Degilio had Zeke not caught her. Zeke had not told anyone, not even Tristan. She was thankful for that, so it was something she kept to herself. She didn't want Tristan to be angry or upset at her, so she kept it a secret from him. She was just happy that those days were behind her and she no longer had to worry about losing herself.
she was currently in the process of tidying her last room for the evening. The guests had just checked out, so she was there to ensure that it was neat and tidy, absolute perfection, for the next guests. It was depressing that this is what Addie was doing with her life. She was nearly twenty years old and she was cleaning up after people for a living. It was money, yes, but she wanted to do so much more with her life. Maybe Tristan was right with her going to get high diploma. She could do the courses she needed to do online. Besides, she stayed in school longer than Tristan did. She dropped out her junior year, so there was only a year she needed to complete. It was tempting, but she was unsure about it. What if it was too late for her? Those questions were pushing at the back of her mind as she continued to clean up. It was a good idea, but if she was going to do something with her life, Addie wanted Tristan to do the same. He was intelligent and he could go places. He just had to believe in himself, just like she believed in him. It seemed fate chose to intervene, as the door opened as her thoughts wandered to Tristan. Of course, she didn't know it was Tristan until she heard the British accent. In a swift movement, she had righted herself, turned and saw Tristan. Her heart was pumping as he had frightened her, but she quickly rolled her eyes and went back to her work. "Idiot," she said loud enough for him to hear her.
feeling hands on her hips, she turned to look over her shoulder, seeing her handsome boyfriend there with a somewhat goofy grin on his face. "You can take me home in about ten minutes. I'm nearly finished." She pulled herself free of his grip and turned to face him. Raising herself onto her toes, she kissed him gently on the lips. Separating herself, she returned to her work. She just had to check that there was no dust anywhere and no trash. The bed was made, the bathroom cleaned, new shampoo and condition and new towels there. Everything was squeaky clean. Her job was fairly repetitive, but they did find some pretty interesting stuff in rooms sometimes. "Do not sit on the bed," she stated, warning obvious in her tone. She did not want to have to fix it once he got up. She quickly wandered around the room, checking for any type of uncleanliness. Finding nothing, she moved back over to Tristan and stood in front of him. "Baby, what are you doing here?" Finally the aroma of coffee hit her and she looked for the source. She noticed the two coffees and she smiled at him. He was so amazingly sweet. He may have had his issues, but Addie still felt she was the luckiest person alive to have him.

wherever i go the one thing that's true IS EVERYTHING I DO I DO FOR YOU, THIS I SWEAR- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - TAG: ADDIE BURKES . LOCATION: OMNI HOTEL OUTFIT: HERE . WORD COUNT: EIGHT THIRTY NINE - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - There were so many things that Tristan had done in his life that he wished he hadn't done, especially after he started doing drugs. He knew what it was like to not know what he was going to do to get money for his drugs and he knew what it was like to do stupid things to get said money. He had stolen from people he cared about: his brother, his mother and even some of his friends. Hell, he had even shoplifted then pawned things off to get some cash. He hadn't been a good person, he hadn't done things he was proud of but now he was going to change, he was determined to. Tristan wanted to have a better life, he wanted to show Addie how much she truly meant to him and how he was determined to change. He knew he wasn't a good guy and he knew that she deserved so much better but she hadn't left his side through anything. She had always been there for him even when he was in a state that would have sent most girls running. That state where he got easily irritable, the one where he would raise his voice and snap at anything and everything. That was the side of him that he had always hated, the side of him that he didn't want to have part of him anymore, he wanted to be happy, he wanted to smile and laugh like he used to, he wanted to have a future with her and he wanted to one day even have a family. Yes, uncommitted Tristan Degilio wanted to commit himself for life to the girl he was going to see. She was his reason for everything, she was the reason he was still alive, hell, she had stopped him on more than one occasion without even knowing. Tristan would never tell her that he had once thought of killing himself, she had dealt with enough in her life.
Despite what most people thought about him Tristan actually lacked a lot of self-confidence. He didn't even know why he just always thought that he wasn't good enough, wasn't smart enough, wasn't talented enough, wasn't anything enough to get anywhere in life. That's why he had dropped out right after freshman year, that's why he refused to go back and get his GED. He knew it would only take one test to get him his high school diploma but he didn't want to be disappointed with results if he failed, he didn't want to even think about failing something as simple as high school work. As much as Addie wanted him to go back to school he would rather see her do it first. Tristan was happy with his job. No, it wasn't his dream job but for a guy who never really had dreams it was a good job. It paid well and he got tips so that was always good, right? He knew that Addie had dreams and goals, that was why he was always trying to convince her to follow them. He wanted to see her get somewhere with her life, he wanted to see her succeed more than anything else. After years of dealing with an addiction she deserved to be happy, she deserved everything that she wanted. "N'aw. Isn't that why you love me?
" He asked curiously, that goofy grin still not leaving his face. Tristan's hands rested on her hips as he spoke up next and he waited for her to turn around once again. " Great." He knew that Addie had been working a lot lately and he figured it was because the holidays were approaching but he still hated to see her work ten hour shifts. She was only nineteen, she should be out having fun, going to college or something else like that, not cleaning up after other people's messes in a five star hotel. Sure some people made this their life's work but in his mind Addie was destined for far greater things. After she had kissed him and then returned to her work Tristan moved away from her to give her space and was about to sit on the bed but her words caused him to raise his hands in surrender and he stepped away from the large bed. " Yes ma'am." Tristan instead moved and leaned back against the desk and crossed his arms loosely over his chest as he watched her. He would step up and offer to help but it looked like she had done everything already. There had been times where the young man would come and help her with her work just so he had an excuse to be with her but right now wasn't one of those moments, plus, she was done. " I just wanted to see you. I missed you today." As he spoke Tristan pushed away from the desk and moved his crossed arms to wrap around her slim figure as he pressed his lips to the side of her head. funny how the two could never seem to get enough of each other. They had been inseparable since Addie had moved in next door when she was five years of age. The two had dealt with various issues with their home lives together, from Addie's alcoholic father, to Tristan's mother never really being around. They'd dysfunctional childhoods, their lives were still dysfunctional. The only constant each of them had were each other, well at least in Addie's case. Tristan was lucky enough to have Zeke, a brother who loved him and would do anything for them. Until six years ago, being the younger of two siblings had been another thing the pair had to bond over. Adelaide had once had a sister, Marlene. In fact, Marlene was what had led both Addie and Tristan to such a problematic adolescence. Marley, as Addie had once called her, had committed suicide at the age of seventeen, Addie at a tender age of fourteen. The entire family had grieved the death, but none more so than Addie. The red head had been completely distraught and was still not over the death, which had occurred all the time ago. The death had led fourteen year old Addie to turn to drugs for comfort. For a while, it had worked. She felt so great that she urged Tristan to try too. She knew her best friend had enough issues, so certainly drugs could help him too. It was that single event, that single thought that had led them to right now; high school dropouts, both with low paying jobs and both with no future. If Addie had the heart, she would blame Marley for the lifestyle she and Tristan now lived. However, she was able to do that. Her sister was still too precious to her.
having the love of her life come and surprise her was the highlight of her day without a doubt. It was impossible for her to say just how much he meant to her. The two had been on and off for nearly four years. He had been her first kiss at thirteen, in preparation for a game of spin the bottle at a birthday party. She had lost her virginity to him at sixteen, feeling that he was the only one she could trust him to keep it a secret. Funny, how that one incident left the pair with a lot of memories to be shared, both good and not so good, although all equally special. Before sex even crossed their minds, the pair would share a bed together. Addie was afraid of storms and frequently she would sneak into Tristan’s room, or he would sneak into hers and she would cuddle up against his body, letting the fact that he was there lull her to sleep. She could never share more with anyone than she shared with the magnificent person right here, who was holding her in his arms. Tristan was the best that Addie could ever hope to find and she was alright with that. His kind words, the small gestures and the obvious way he showed his love for her was more than she could have ever hoped for from anyone. “I've missed you too. A lot.” Once upon a time, Addie would’ve found words like that pathetic, but experiencing the intense feelings that drove them to be spoken, she could not stick to that frame of mind. “I’m glad you came. I’m even gladder you haven’t messed anything up yet.” She laughed, withdrawing herself from his embrace, moving to pick up the coffee he had brought her, without waiting for invitation to do so. She knew him well enough to know that he would not mind.
sipping the coffee, she allowed a small moan to escape her. Was it simply coincidence that he brought her coffee, or did he happen to know she had been craving caffeine particularly bad that evening? It never ceased to amaze her how in sync two people could be. She still was surprised to hear words escape them at the same time, or a craving the two happened to share, or when he’d offer her something she had just thought of having. It had been a frequent occurrence, particularly in the past month or so, but Addie was still having a hard time stomaching it. It was not a negative thing, it just continued to surprise her. “Was that the only reason you decided to visit?” she asked him, using her free hand to pull her hair from the messy bun it had been secured in all day. Addie hated having her hair tied back, but it was necessary for the job. Whilst she was here, talking to Tristan, she need not have it tied up, discomforting her in any way. “Or did you have an ulterior motive?” She had good reason to question his reasoning for visiting her, especially since Tristan consistently dropped hints about having sex with her whilst she was at work. He said it would be ‘making good use of her the hotel rooms’. Addie thought it was slightly disgusting and unnecessary work, as she would just have to change the sheets and make the bed once more. She had enough of making beds without adding an unnecessary one to it. “The answer is still no,” she said to him, sipping her coffee again, not waiting for him to answer the question. She knew Tristan well enough to know what he was like. She knew that he would be fully prepared to take advantage of their current situation. Addie just wanted to go home and sick into a hot bubble bath.

wherever i go the one thing that's true IS EVERYTHING I DO I DO FOR YOU, THIS I SWEAR- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - TAG: ADDIE BURKES . LOCATION: OMNI HOTEL OUTFIT: HERE . WORD COUNT: NINE FOUR SIX - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Growing up in New Haven had been something that Tristan never really minded. It was a small town and most people knew each other minus the students who came from around the world to study at Yale. The neighborhood where Tristan grew up in was one of those areas where not having a lot was common but on that block were probably some of the best people you could ever come in contact with. Sure a lot of them were into drugs or petty crimes but they always had each other’s backs. When Addie had moved in next door she had become part of the unofficial family that the neighborhood seemed to act as. Since Tristan was one of the only boys that were close to her age, well, one of the only children in general that were close to her age he had been asked to befriend her. It was one of those situations that the young boy really wanted nothing to do with because at that point in time he was still in the ‘girls have cooties’ stage but now that he looked back on it befriending Addie was probably the best decision he had made in his life. Out of the two of them Tristan had been the one to drop out of high school and that was something he regretted but at the same time it was something he never really gave much thought to any longer. He didn’t want to go to college and he doubted that even if he did want to attend he would get in. Tristan had barely passed the ninth grade and then had dropped out the following year so the job he had now he was thankful for. Bartending was the one thing that could make him a decent amount of money to pay for the apartment, bills and food, all with Addie’s help, of course.
When one thought of or heard the name Tristan Degilio they would probably picture a high school drop-out, a drug addict, a man who had no plans or goals for his life and someone who was going to be working at a dead end job for the rest of his life and probably end up like his father. They probably pictured a man who would eventually walk out on a family (if he were to ever have one) and as a man who never kept his word. When it came to his mother, Zeke and the beautiful girl he now held in his arms, that wasn’t the case. All three of them saw more in him then he would ever see in himself and more than anyone else would ever see. Words could never describe how much the three of them meant to the twenty-one year old and he doubted that he could ever thank them for all they had done for him and all they had put up with over the years. Without them he would not be where he was right now and he knew it. What he was even surer of than that was that without Addie in his life he would probably not be alive today. The words that escaped her mouth caused a laugh to leave Tristan’s lips as his hands dropped to his sides as she walked away from his embrace. “If I mess anything up you’d probably murder me and believe it or not I want to live right now.
” He teased her, moving to pick up his coffee in the process. Tristan had learned long ago to not mess with anything in the hotel rooms or he would get in trouble by Addie and he didn’t want that so he behaved himself for the most part. On most normal days he would bug her about it but not tonight, no, tonight he had reasons not to. There was actually a reason behind Tristan’s visit today, one that he had yet to reveal to her but he had a feeling it would come out soon. Bringing the cup of coffee to his lips to drank a sip from it before moving it away from his mouth and setting it on the dresser once more. “ I wouldn’t say that it’s an ulterior motive, more along the lines of I have a surprise for you.” The words left his mouth with a rather serious expression on his face but were soon accompanied by a laugh as well. He wasn’t stupid, he knew what she was referring to, mainly because he always suggested making good use of the hotel rooms but tonight he didn’t have to even think about that all thanks to a gift he had gotten from his manager at Seventh Degree. “ Is the answer still ‘no’ only because you’ll be the one having to clean up?” So shoot him for being curious, he was just trying to stall a little longer before he revealed why he had actually come. Plus, he needed to know if she was completely against sex in hotel beds or just sex in hotel beds that she had to end up cleaning up after. If it was the latter then that was fine but if it was the first reason then that would be a big problem. After a few more moments passed by Tristan moved over to where his girlfriend was standing and reached into his jacket pocket, retrieving an envelope from it and then handed it to her with a smile. “ Open it, baby.” He spoke up quietly. Inside were two tickets to a Broadway show for the next evening along with a confirmation receipt for a hotel room in New York City for the next two evenings. [/blockquote]
