When the sun shone through the dorm window of Charity Marshelic, the young woman turned over facing away from it. Having had a restless night due to the stresses of work. The young woman was unable to get to sleep until four in the morning. Peeking open one eye, she tried her hardest to focus in on the clock to see what time it was exactly. When she was able to, the time read nine fourty five. Charity grumbled as she pulled back the covers that warmed her, she sat up and moved herself to the edge of her bed. Feeling a few aches and pains in the mid section of her back, so raising her arms above her and stretched her slender frame. As she did, she could feel all of the kinks and knots that she had acquired from sitting at the desk loosen up.
Running her hands through her long ebony hair, Charity moved her hands to her face to rub her eyes. Atleast she didn't have class today, but she did have to work later in the afternoon. The hours that she works was proving to be a bit much for her, especially for when she had classes in the mornings. Which was one of the reasons that she had off of work till the afternoon, see, Charity was under the impression that she had class this morning but found out later that she didn't. Not bothering to tell her boss about it, she just let it go and decided that she would stay on campus for the better part of the morning. Getting up from her bed, she walked over to her closet to find an outfit to wear. Taking a few minutes to look through all the outfits that she owned, Charity pulled out a black short sleeve tee shirt and a pair of black faded denim jeans.
Once she got dressed, she put her socks and shoes on and again looked at the clock as she tied her shoestrings. The time read ten thirty. Sighing softly as she sat back up, turning slightly to take a gander out of the window, Charity decided that it was time for her to wake up, the only way for her to wake up was to have her morning latte. Getting up from the chair she sat on when she was tieing her shoes, Charity grabbed her keys and put them in her pocket. Also grabbing her laptop and placed the strap over her shoulder, she headed out of the door and shut it behind her making sure to lock it too. Making her way through the hall and down the stairs to the outside, Charity pushed open the door to the court yard and headed toward the campus cafe. The only place that she would go to get her latte, there was no place that had such incredible coffe than that place.
Charity ran through her mind a list of things she had to do for work, there were so many case files that she had to check through to make sure nothing was missing. Thankfully she had done all of her work on her laptop, which she had brought with her just in case. Upon walking up to the door of the cafe, still with case loads stuck in her mind, she headed toward the counter and ordered a mocha latte. Pulling into the pocket of her laptop case, where she kept her wallet at, she pulled her credit card out and swiped it. Pushing credit on the pad, she paid for the drink and took the reciept placing it in her wallet. Putting her wallet back into her case, she stepped aside and waited for her latte to be made, she glanced around to find a seat to where she would be able to work quietly. The girl tapped Charity on the shoulder indicating to her that the latte she ordered was ready.
Taking the cup and heading toward the back where the booths were, she swayed in between the tables and people. Carefully trying not to bump into them, otherwise either she would be wearing extremely hot coffee, or they would be. Safely making it to the booth, she pulled her laptop off her shoulder and sat it on the bench seat then placed her coffee down on the table. But before she did, she took a sip and savored the refreshing taste of the coffee. It was so good.. Setting her drink down, she reached for her laptop and set it up on the table, plugging it in. Once it was hooked up, Charity began working on the file that she had spent most of the night working on and sipping on her latte as well.

Kaden's arms rose over his head, and his hands clenched into fists, as he stretched himself awake. He'd overslept his normal schedule, but wasn't too distressed of it. The boy's life had become one thing; routine. Get up at five, go to the gym, and head up to the main floor to get a nice thick glass of his good morning-raw-eggs-yogurt-and-fresh-fruit shake. Then it was always, take a shower, get fancied up and get his ass to class all while fighting the urge to tear into the people he loved and somehow fit in. That alone, was a difficult task, but no matter where he was, or what he had planned; it was all the same. Kaden laid there, for a moment. His bright blue eyes staring up at the ceiling of his very brightly lit bedroom. He'd never been one for home decor. His walls and bedding were white, his lamps were silver, and anything else like picture frames or his dresser was black. He'd lost his color scale, his senior year of high school, when he learned that less was more, and appearances meant everything. The only people who could afford to be brave, were those trying to be trend setters, and with the life he led, bright colors were not the kind of attention you wanted to be attracting. Especially when you were trying to start over.
Now, that didn't mean that the girls he'd considered his friends weren't dressing him up like a doll. Kaden loved it, to be quite honest. There hadn't been anyone in his life, to take him in so humbly before. Never a single one, treated him as a man, instead of an obligation, until Yale. And to the people he surrounded himself with here, he was more than just a shy student. He was a friend and confidant. Which is why, they all understood each other's boundaries. Today, however, beside the normal routine, his classes were in low as were his duties. Today, Kaden got the day off. Though, this morning the thought of his famous shake, curled his stomach as the idea became rotten on his lips. No, today, he felt like something rich and something sweet and fattening to go with it. Without another moment, Kaden rose to sit on his bed, with a smile on his lips. And with a lighthearted skip in his step, he'd made his way into the bathroom, for a shower and a nice close shave, before dressing himself and heading out the door.
It didn't take long for him to get downtown. He'd decided to ride his motorcycle, and it wasn't that difficult to weave in and out of traffic, these days. Even when the streets were packed with yellow tops and spoiled brats. He'd boughten that bike back when he was still a freshman in high school. The first thing he'd ever paid for, with money that he'd earned on his own. He was proud of it; very proud of it. And the only people to ever touch it, were either very important people in his life, or suckers who got their asses beat on the sidewalk, because they thought it would be easy to steal. Now, Kaden wasn't the type of guy to throw arms, but when it dealt with certain things in his life, he wouldn't hesitate to fight. As Kaden stepped past the threshold, he made his way straight to the counter, with his helmet under arm. There wasn't much of a line, as it was a single customer in front of him, so in his wait, the tall brood let his eyes take a gander over the occupants of the much beloved coffee shop. Things were as per usual; artists dressed in black, trying to set their own mood with their large mugs, but brightly metallic phones attached to their ears. Mothers with their children, trying to calm them in a fuss, because all they really want is a taste of hazelnut, peace and quiet. A business man, having a donut; one in which, had convinced Kaden's taste buds, that was the very thing he wanted, and your average school girls, pretty in pink as they skipped the classes they'd sure to regret come the end of the year.
Nothing special. Nothing out of the ordinary.
After placing and receiving his order, Kaden decided to stay for a while. The cafe was very welcoming, oddly enough, and he didn't really feel like going back out. Hell, soon he'd have to put his bike away for the end of fall and the entire winter. With his caffeine in hand, the tall man pulled it to his lips and let the rich liquid caress his tongue in a warm haze, as his eyes set sights on a beauty, sitting along in the back of the room, and he smiled. Pulling the foam cup away from his lips, Kaden took a short dash her way. "This seat taken?" He asked, a bright smile on his face as he looked down at her ebony hair, shining in the light.

When the war has took it's part When the world has dealt it's cards If the hand is hard, together we'll mend your heart.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxAfter all the chaos she had endured getting downtown to the cafe, Charity decided to just stay where she was for a while. Sipping on latte's, while she worked on the case she would be representing next week. Leaning over and rummaged through the laptop case, she pulled the file of copied papers of the evidence they had. It was enough papers to drive a person mad, almost literately. People don't realize what lawyers or paralegals go through when having to prepare for cases, neither did Charity until she got into the field. There was a lot of research and long hours of investigating, just so much that had given her headaches for the longest time. Just thinking about the case was enough to bring a headache on. Placing the file on the table in front of her, she flipped through the papers one by one, studying each one carefully. If she were to overlook one bit of it, she could miss something and Charity did not want to do that. The last thing she wanted to hear was her bosses mouth flapping in the wind. As she read through the information, she reached for her latte and lifted it to her lips to take a drink. The warm liquid felt so good going down and the high amount of caffeine slowly started to hit her with each sip she took. Glancing back to the document she was working on, Charity set her coffee down next to her laptop and began to type away. She kept thinking to herself, why was she a paralegal? Why couldn't she have chosen a different profession? Like a model or something of that nature. No, she had decided to go into fighting for the rights of people, or making the decisions of who goes to jail and who doesn't. Though the one thing that she enjoyed about her job was speaking for the children. Charity was a sucker for kids, they were so innocent and sweet. She couldn't wait to find Mister Right and settle down to have children of her own. But who would want a woman like her, who was always busy with either school or work? What time would she have for them? Charity sighed as she grabbed her cup and took another sip, or two then looked up to see those around her. She wasn't really paying much mind, just enough to see the faces of those she was around before returning her attention to the document. Once again, she went typing away. Glancing back and forth between the evidence review and the document she was working on. It was pretty much for a divorce between two people, basically the wife cheated on the husband and he came to Charity looking for advice on what to do. In the end and to make a long story short, he ended up as her client. "Is this seat taken?" interrupted Charity's thoughts as she was typing. Looking to where the voice had come from, the young woman saw a tall man standing to the side of the table. Charity shook her head "No, No, Of course not. Have a seat." she said to him with a smile that creased her lips. Saving the document that she was working on and shutting her laptop, Charity removed it from the table to give him room. Then closed the file she had sitting on the side and placed it on her laptop that she had sat beside her. Charity looked back up at the guy standing there, taking noticed to his attractive smile and gorgeous blue eyes. She wondered to herself, how the hell she got so lucky to have a guy like him want to sit with her? Or was it just that there were no other seats available. Charity glanced around and noticed that there were other seats that he could have sat in, however, she was still surprised that here he was choosing to sit with her. "I'm Charity Marshelic, Criminology Major. You are?" she inquired as she stretched her hand out in greeting and looked up at the man with her amber eyes. Charity was thankful that he came along, considering her mind needed the break after the long grueling hours she had spent on the case. Still slightly surprised by the fact that the tiredness she felt was beginning to wear off, just by the latte and by the company she was given. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Tagged: Kaden Words: 743 Music: Wall to Wall by Chris Brown Credit: To Me

Kaden couldn't help but let out a small chuckle at the way she'd introduced herself. It wasn't often you met a pretty girl do so, the way she had done. Normally it was a stuck up attitude, letting you know just how great of a girl she was, and that you were out of her league - if you didn't have the goods. It seemed that Kaden never did, because he wasn't the type to deal with selfish brats. Well, all except for Abby and Taryn, that was. No, Kaden's idea girl wasn't what you'd expect from such a sweet guy. To be quite honest, it was exactly the opposite. He liked his women aggressive. The type who would fight for you, that you wouldn't have to save on a daily basis, because they were no damsel in distress. Someone confidant in themselves, who would commit themselves to you and only you, and give you a run for your money every time you stepped out the door. The kind of girl who knew what she wanted out of life, and who wasn't afraid to take it, because in all honesty, that was Kaden's dream girl. Kaden bid her a kind thank you with a warm nod, as she gave him permission to sit. "Not as formal." He smiled. "Kaden Wilson. Pre-Med." Kaden continued, reaching out his hand as well in greeting. He felt her skin on his palm and smiled, as the two shook, and seated himself properly in the space she had provided for him, before placing his drink on the table as well.
"So, you want to be a lawyer?" He asked, not exactly understanding the rout that came out from being a paralegal. Or that she was one, at that. His hand cupped his mug as he sat there and looked over at her, a quaint smile across his lips. It wasn't cheesy, or daring. It was just a small welcoming gesture, that could quickly be confused with flirting. A lot of the time, though, that's exactly what it meant, but he'd never tell. Right now, he was just so interested in who this beautiful person was, and wondering why she was so determined to get herself lost in the clutter she surrounded herself with. He couldn't deny that she was quite striking, but ironically he'd soon find out that she was just his type of girl. Kaden's hand gripped onto the mug that he'd been cupping, and slowly brought it up to his lips. A light breeze from his lungs set to cool it down, as the steam fell afloat from the top of the hot liquid and swirled around it's edge. Tilting the cup, he let the sweet nectar spill in his mouth, and sooth his morning throat.
The cafe wasn't that busy, oddly enough. Normally students were in here trying to get their caffeine fix, or something to fill their stomachs to get them by for the next four classes. No one really knew what to expect when they came to college. Hell, even Kaden thought that it'd be easier than it is. He figured there would be parties and fun, but instead he got drama and work. He was ready for some excitement, to say the least, and where he was in his life right now, just wasn't fulfilling his needs. He knew that it was time for a change, and even though every day he would wish for it, he had never expected it to actually happen. No, that would mean that luck was on his side, and to Kaden, that meant that the end of the world wasn't too far behind. He didn't think he deserved to be happy, and honestly, a mediocre life was all he was going to get, in his mind. He'd had his chance, and he'd failed at it, and now he had to suffer the consciences.
"You live around New Haven?" Kaden had asked, after getting her previous reply and acting accordingly. He couldn't help but notice how much of a beautiful woman she was, and thought he tried not to stare, he couldn't help it. He just hoped that he wasn't making a complete fool of himself in the process. He may have been a shy man sometimes, but he never really had a problem tell a girl that she was attractive. Right now, though, that didn't seem to be the case, as he found himself shock-stricken in a way. For some reason, he wanted to get to know this girl, instead of just con his way into her pants. That had to be something, right? "Because, I would have remembered a face like that." He continued, this time throwing her a line, with a charming smile to follow. Okay, so it may have been cheesy, but she seemed a little tightly wound, and figured she could use a good smile.
